Engineers in the UAE meet clients, contractors and developers at site meetings, tender briefings and consultant coordination sessions, and everyone asks the same thing afterwards: who handles which discipline, and where is the company profile? A digital business card for engineers in the UAE answers that in one link: your discipline, your registration, your project portfolio and a way to reach you. This guide shows how to set one up with MyInfo.
What an engineer's card needs
Keep it specific. A client or contractor wants to know what you cover and how to reach you.
- Name, title and firm. Use the title you actually hold, such as Civil Engineer, MEP Consultant or Project Manager.
- Disciplines. Structural, MEP, infrastructure, fit-out supervision or whatever you genuinely offer.
- Registration. If your work requires registration with an authority, show it exactly as issued, in the same way as a trade licence line. Do not paraphrase it.
- A contact channel. WhatsApp, email or a link to your company profile.
Build the card in a few minutes
- Open /create and sign in with an email code, as in create your first card.
- On the Content tab, set your name, company and job title, following edit your card details.
- Choose a card address people remember, using choose your card address.
- Add your photo and banner, then save.
List disciplines and credentials in a text section
Use a text section for what you cover, as described in add a text section. Title it "Disciplines" and list them in plain language. A text section holds up to 600 characters. A free card has one text section and a Premium card has up to three, so a second can hold registrations and a third your office hours. See also text sections for services and hours.
Link your project portfolio and company profile
Engineers are judged on past work. Add a button to a project portfolio or company profile PDF, as covered in add your portfolio or menu to your card. A short walkthrough video of a completed project can sit on the card too, using add a YouTube video. Because the links live on the card, you swap a file or video once and every shared QR code shows the new version.
Share it on site and at meetings
A card on your phone works at a site walk or a coordination meeting: show the QR code, or tap an NFC card, as explained in NFC business cards and QR code business cards. After a tender briefing, send the link by WhatsApp rather than hunting for a card. On a Premium card, Exchange Contact lets a contractor or developer leave their name and number, as in lead capture, so you can follow up.
What to keep off the card
Anyone with your link can open a public card. Keep drawings, client names under NDA, tender figures and site security details off it. Link only to a portfolio you are free to share publicly. If you want a card shared with a small group only, a Premium card can be set to Private with an access code, as in privacy and access. This is general information, not legal advice.
One look for the whole consultancy
If your firm has several engineers, create a card for each and give them a shared look through themes and branding. The contractors and tradespeople page shows how related site-based professions use MyInfo.
