--- What is the real paper business card cost in Dubai, and does a digital card beat it over three years? In the worked example below, a solo professional who prints 250 cards a year spends between about AED 345 and AED 1,500 over three years, depending on print quality, while a free digital card costs AED 0 and an NFC card adds about AED 39. For a ten-person team the paper bill climbs into the thousands. The honest catch is that a paid digital plan is not always cheaper than paper, and this post shows exactly where the break-even sits. Every assumption is labelled, so you can replace our numbers with your own invoice.

Why a three-year view

A single print run makes paper look cheap. A box of cards costs less than a team lunch, so most people never add it up. The cost of paper is not the first order; it is the repeating pattern of reorders, small corrections and cards that go out of date before they are handed out. We covered the pattern in what reprinting business cards really costs and the wider differences in digital business card versus paper business card. This post does the arithmetic over three years, long enough to include a title change, a new number or a rebrand. For the digital side on its own, see how much does a digital business card cost in the UAE.

What printed business cards actually cost in Dubai

We looked for real, checkable prices rather than guessing. Dubai printer Print Arabia says on its website that business cards start from AED 105, with VAT of 5 percent included in the displayed price. That is a starting price; the cost rises with thicker stock, lamination, foil, embossing and rounded corners.

For an international reference, the comparison site Uniqode summarises typical online prices per 100 standard cards: about $9.80 to $14.99 at budget printers, $17 to $30 in the mid range and $41 to $82 at the premium end. At the UAE dirham's fixed peg of about 3.67 to the dollar, that is roughly AED 36 to AED 55 for budget, AED 62 to AED 110 mid range and AED 150 to AED 300 for premium, per 100 cards, before shipping and VAT.

The takeaway is that an entry-level run in Dubai is cheap, a premium finish is several times more expensive, and quotes move. Get your own current quote before you rely on any figure here.

Our assumptions, stated plainly

These are assumptions, not facts, and you should change them to match your life. We chose them to be reasonable rather than flattering to digital.

Printing. One run is 250 cards, with VAT included. We test three price levels: AED 115 (a little above the AED 105 starting price we found, because the cheapest option rarely matches what people order), AED 250 (a sturdier stock with a finish) and AED 500 (a premium finish). The AED 250 and AED 500 figures are our assumptions, not quotes.

Volume. A solo professional hands out about 250 cards a year, which is roughly five a week. That is a lot for a desk-based person and modest for someone who works exhibitions or sales visits.

Changes. Details change at least once in three years, such as a new title or number. When that happens, the cards left in the box are wasted, but we do not charge for that waste in cash terms; we treat the three runs as three runs.

Digital. A free MyInfo card costs AED 0. An NFC card is AED 39 including VAT, the single-card price we found on Ziina's help page. MyInfo Premium is sold through partners with no public price, so we leave it as an unknown and solve for it below.

Excluded. We do not price your time, the value of an out-of-date number, or the cost of design. Those are real but hard to measure, so we discuss them separately at the end.

Scenario one: a solo professional

Imagine a consultant or agent in Dubai who prints 250 cards a year for three years, three runs in total.

At the low price of AED 115 a run, paper costs 3 x 115 = AED 345. At AED 250 a run it costs AED 750. At AED 500 a run it costs AED 1,500.

Now the digital side. A free card with a QR code and a link costs AED 0. If the consultant also buys one NFC card for meetings, the total is AED 39. Even if the consultant never touches Premium, the cash saving over three years is AED 306 at the low print price, AED 711 at the mid price and AED 1,461 at the premium price, with the NFC card included.

That is the clearest result in the whole comparison: a free digital card is cheaper than paper at every price level we tested. The saving is not enormous at the cheapest print price, but it is real, and it grows with every reprint.

Scenario two: a ten-person sales team

Teams change the arithmetic because every person has their own cards and every change multiplies. Assume ten salespeople, each printing one 250-card run a year, and three new joiners over the three years who each need a first run. That is 30 scheduled runs plus 3 joiner runs, so 33 runs. We assume a rebrand brings forward some reprints but does not add more.

At AED 115 a run, paper costs 33 x 115 = AED 3,795. At AED 250 it costs AED 8,250. At AED 500 it costs AED 16,500.

The digital equivalent starts with free cards for all 13 people. If every one of them also gets an NFC card at AED 39, the hardware costs 13 x 39 = AED 507. Without any paid plan, the three-year cash saving is AED 3,288 at the low print price, AED 7,743 at the mid price and AED 15,993 at the premium price.

What if you need a paid plan

Free cards do not include lead capture, visit analytics or private cards. If you need those, you need a paid plan, and that changes the sums. So let us turn the comparison around and ask how much you can spend on a paid plan before paper becomes the cheaper option.

For the solo consultant, with an NFC card included, the three-year budget before digital loses is AED 306 at the low print price (about AED 102 a year, or AED 8.50 a month), AED 711 at the mid price (about AED 237 a year, or AED 19.75 a month) and AED 1,461 at the premium price (about AED 487 a year, or AED 40.60 a month).

For the team, spreading the saving across all 13 people, the three-year budget per person is about AED 253 at the low price (about AED 84 a year), AED 596 at the mid price (about AED 199 a year) and AED 1,230 at the premium price (about AED 410 a year).

How do real plans compare? Using the list prices we read in October 2026, HiHello's Professional plan at $6 a month is about AED 22 a month, or AED 793 over 36 months. Blinq Premium at $7.33 a month billed annually is about AED 27 a month, or AED 969 over three years, and $9.99 billed monthly is about AED 1,321. For teams, HiHello's Business plan at $5 per user a month and Blinq Business at $4.99 per user a month billed annually both work out to about AED 660 per person over three years.

Put those next to the break-even figures. At the low print price, a paid individual plan from an international app costs more than paper. At the mid price it costs about the same as paper or a little more. At the premium price it is cheaper. For a team at the mid print price, paper at about AED 635 per person and a per-user plan at about AED 660 are close to equal.

In other words, the claim that digital is always cheaper is only true for free cards. Paid plans are a decision about features, not savings.

Where MyInfo Premium fits

MyInfo does not publish a Premium price, because partners across the UAE quote it directly and issue a licence PIN; see where to get NFC cards and upgrade to Premium and the pricing page. So we cannot place MyInfo Premium on the chart, and we will not invent a number. What we can give you is a method.

Ask a partner for the price per card per year for the number of cards you need. Compare it with the break-even you computed for your own print price. If the quote is below it, digital wins on cash even with Premium. If it is above it, you are paying for features such as lead capture, analytics and private cards, which is a fair thing to pay for if you will use them. Our guide to when to upgrade to Premium lists the signs. And remember that plans apply per card, so you can leave most cards on the free plan and upgrade only the ones that need it.

When paper is genuinely cheaper

There are cases where paper wins on cash. If you hand out very few cards, say 50 a year, one AED 115 run could last years, and a paid digital plan would cost more. If you never change your details, there are no reprints. If you only need a card for a rare meeting, a small print run is a fine answer.

Even then, paper only beats a paid plan. It does not beat a free digital card, which costs nothing to create or to edit.

Costs the spreadsheet leaves out

Cash is not the only cost. A few other costs are real, but we deliberately left them out of the numbers because they are hard to measure honestly.

Wasted stock. When a title or number changes, the leftover cards go in a drawer. If you printed 250 and used 100, you paid for 150 cards you will never hand out. This is why the reprint pattern costs more than the invoice suggests.

Out-of-date contact details. An old number on a card in someone's wallet is a missed call you never see. Digital cards open the current version every time, and updating one takes about half a minute; see what to do when your job title or number changes.

A low-cost hybrid for people who still want paper

You do not have to choose. Many people keep a small run of paper for formal situations and put a QR code on it, so the card stays useful after the details change. Print the code and your card address, not a phone number that might change. We explain the size and placement rules in print your QR code business card.

The saving here is real: because the code points to your card's address, a change of title or number does not trigger a reprint. You pay for paper once and the information stays current. That turns paper from a repeating cost into a one-off.

How to run the numbers with your own invoice

You can reproduce this comparison in ten minutes with a pen. First, find your last print invoice and divide the total by the number of cards to get your price per card. Second, count how many runs you ordered in the past three years, including the corrections. Third, multiply by the number of people if you are comparing for a team. That is your paper figure.

Next, decide what digital package you need. If the free plan covers you, your digital figure is AED 0 plus any NFC cards. If you need Premium, ask a partner for a per-card quote, and divide it over the same period so the comparison is fair.

Subtract the digital figure from the paper figure, and you have your saving. If the saving is negative, paper wins for you, and that is a perfectly respectable answer. If it is positive, create your free card and keep the difference.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to print business cards in Dubai?

Print Arabia lists business cards from AED 105 including 5 percent VAT, and prices rise with thicker stock and finishes such as foil or embossing. In our worked example we tested AED 115, AED 250 and AED 500 for a run of 250 cards, which are labelled assumptions rather than quotes. Always get a current quote for your own design and quantity, then compare the price per card, not just the total, because quantity changes the rate.

Is a digital business card cheaper than paper over three years?

A free digital card is cheaper than paper in every scenario we tested, because it costs AED 0 to create and edit, and an NFC card adds about AED 39. A paid plan is a different case: at low print prices it can cost more than paper, at mid prices it is roughly even, and at premium print prices it is cheaper. MyInfo Premium is quoted by partners, so ask for a price and compare it with your own break-even.
