If you have lost your NFC business card, the first thing to know is that the card itself holds no private data, only a web link to your digital card. Whoever finds it can open the same page any visitor can open, and nothing more. This guide covers what a lost NFC business card actually exposes, how to tighten your MyInfo card in a few minutes, and how to get a replacement back in your wallet.
What a lost NFC card actually exposes
An NFC business card stores one thing: your card address, such as myinfo.ae/yourname. As the NFC business card feature page explains, the chip holds the link, not the content. There is no contact book, payment detail or password on it. Someone who taps it sees the public page you built, the same one you would show a client at a meeting. For the full picture of what is on the chip, read can someone steal your data from an NFC business card.
So the real question is not "what can the finder take?" but "what have I published on my card?"
Step 1: review what your public card shows
Sign in and open your card in the editor. On the Content tab, check each detail: mobile phone, public email, office number and any links. Remove anything you would not want a stranger to have. If a personal number is on there, see keep your personal number off your card. Steps for changing details are in edit your card details, and the page updates as soon as you save.
Step 2: lock the card down if you need to
If your card carries sensitive details, or the loss happened somewhere you are uncomfortable with, a Premium card can be set to Private with a six-digit access code. Visitors then see a code prompt and only open your card if they know it. Follow make a card private with an access code. A private card is also not listed in search engines or the card directory. The trade-off is that your genuine contacts need the code too, so share it with the people who should have it, and set Visibility back to Public when you are ready. See make a digital business card private for when this is worth doing.
Step 3: replace the card
A new card can be programmed with the same link, so your new card works exactly like the old one. Ask a MyInfo partner to supply and program it, or follow program an NFC card to write the link yourself with a free NFC writing app. Test it by tapping with both an Android phone and an iPhone before you hand it out. If you are choosing a new card, questions to ask before you buy an NFC business card in Dubai is a useful checklist.
A card address is permanent, so you cannot switch the lost card off by changing the address and keep the same name. The practical protection is controlling what the page shows, not the object in someone's pocket.
Step 4: tell the people who matter
For most professionals, a lost NFC card is a minor inconvenience, not an incident. If you handed cards to clients in a sensitive setting, a short message is enough: your card details are current and the link is unchanged. Because your card is a live page, you never need to reprint or resend anything when your details change. That is the main advantage over paper, covered in digital business card vs paper business card.

Frequently asked questions
Can someone use my lost NFC card to access my account?
No. The chip stores only your public card address. It does not store your email, sign-in code or any account detail. Signing in to MyInfo uses a one-time code sent to your email, so a found card cannot unlock your dashboard.
Do I need to get a new card number or address after losing my card?
No. The chip holds the link, and the link stays the same. Program a new NFC card with the same address and it works as before. If you want to limit who sees your details in the meantime, edit the card or, on Premium, set it to Private with an access code.
