What analytics can and cannot tell you

Set a baseline before the event
Look at the average daily visits for the week or two before. Without a baseline, a spike means nothing. Pick the same date range length for each event so comparisons are fair.
Compare before, during and after
On the event day and the two days after, check visits against your baseline. A rise suggests people opened your card, either on the spot or when they followed up later. Your own visits can add to totals, so keep your own tests out of the event window where you can.
Use a dedicated card for one event
